We have had a busy season, finishing on a high with our visit to Bristol. We hope everyone had a good day. We have also had some great successes this year with most of our teams recording wins against some bigger, more established youth sides. Well done to all.

There has also been some great news from our older age group with the following being picked for the Super 6 team: Dan White, Alan Bevan and Harold Dustan. Also, Joe Pullen, Chris Wake and George Paris are to represent Somerset at county level. We are very proud of their achievements. Keep up the hard work and we look forward to continued success next season.

An event happening over the summer holidays is a Sevens Tournament at Harlequins RFC. This is for spectators only but you can have the chance to meet some of the Harlequins players. We have not yet had confirmation of the date yet, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know.

Please remember to check here on the website for any events that will be happening over the summer break. We are hoping to have some pre-season training sessions during the break. We will inform you all via post, e-mail or on the website of dates. We will also put the coaching structure on the website.

On the subject of e-mails, please could we have everyone's e-mail address, as it will make easier to contact you with changes to fixtures, etc.

Next season's training will start on Sunday 10th September. We hope you all have an enjoyable summer break.

OTHER NEWS

I have taken over the running of the Development Squad from Pete Richardson and would like to take this opportunity to say a big thanks to Pete for everything he has done for the Squad since we started.

At the end of last season, many of us went to Bristol for a training session, followed by a trip to the match, Bristol vs Northampton. We had a great day out and everyone enjoyed themselves. However, we were a little disappointed with the training session and lack of support we received from the Bristol RFC staff. Following the event, we wrote to them to express our concerns. I'm pleased to advise you that Richard Hill responded personally and apologised profusely and has promised to send some players down to us to run a session early next season. Rest assured we will be taking him up on his offer! More details to follow.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all again next season and to making our Development Squad the best in the county!
