CCRFC on the Web

Saturday 4th September 2004 saw the launch of the official CCRFC website: www.castlecaryrfc.co.uk. The idea of putting the Club into cyberspace had been circulating among committee members for a while. Now, thanks to the efforts of player Martin White and his brother Chris — a part-time web designer — it has become a reality.

The site has been constructed around nine main sections: they are all accessible via the menu on the left. Here is a brief overview.

The Teams pages contain interactive group photos of the 1st and 2nd XV players, as well as an area devoted to the Youth (or Minis) Section of the Club.

The Results & Fixtures section aims to be a comprehensive guide to the fortunes of CCRFC over the coming season. All 1st and 2nd XV matches can be found here, along with results that will be updated on a weekly basis. We will try to keep the fixtures as up-to-date as possible with any last-minute changes — including Minis' matches, when arranged.

You are in the News section right now, and the most recent news story can always be accessed directly from the site's homepage. These pages also feature last season's Club Award winners, the President's Message and match reports. News items and articles are welcome from players and supporters alike. Please submit them via e-mail to news@castlecaryrfc.co.uk.

The Social section is for all off-the-field activities: it includes the Social Diary and Club membership details, as well as how to hire our Clubhouse facilities.

The Galleries feature photos submitted by players and supporters. It is divided into three sub-sections. For details on how to send pictures to the site, please visit this section.

The Club History comprises four pages detailing the story of CCRFC, from its beginnings in 1888, right up to the present-day.

Club Merchandise is fully priced and illustrated. Unfortunately, we have, as yet, no online ordering facility. However, all items can be purchased either directly from the Clubhouse or via mail-order by filling in the form on our 'Contact' page.

Anyone wishing to get in touch with the Club can do so via the Contact section. Full details are given, as well as a page showing directions to the Ground.

Finally, the Links section features weblinks to our sponsors (past and present) as well as any recommended rugby websites. You are welcome to submit any for inclusion.

If anyone has any technical questions or comments regarding the design of the site, please use the form on our Contact page. Our Webmaster, Chris White, will be happy to help.

The CCRFC website is here for everyone with an interest in the Club, whether a member or not. Anyone is welcome to submit news stories, articles, pictures, match reports or any information you may wish to share with the wider rugby community. A lot of work has gone into its construction, so please help make it a success.
