Secretary's update: Viv Armson
Welcome everyone to the last newsletter of the 2007–08 season, but there still lots going on! We have recently applied for and been successful in obtaining a grant from the RFU. We will use the grant to purchase new goalposts for our second pitch and upgrade the lighting in the car park, the training pitch and the club-house.

Please don't forget to come and join us for the AGM which is on Friday 6 June 8.30 pm. Your voice really matters, and if you want to make changes, or help us to run the rugby club, why not put yourself forward to be on the committee? Come and see me for a nomination form or to have a chat about what being on the committee involves.

I hope to see many of you at the ball, last year which was our first, was a great success, it was a sell-out so get your requests for tickets in early!

1st XV Captain: Russell Churchouse, Club Coach: Pete Richardson
Here we are with three games to go until the end of the season and we are still in a position to claim the runners-up spot. This has been achieved by the combined efforts of our three coaches, Pete Richardson, James Atkins and Andy Gibbens, and the commitment and dedication shown by the players who turned up for training on the cold wet winter evenings, followed by their hard work in the games each Saturday. The arrival of new players this season, has helped us to strengthen the squad. The average age of our first team squad is only 23!

Last week, we played Taunton, who are already the winners of our league. We beat them by 30 points to 7, this win was especially pleasing. We are confident and excited about our future prospects over then coming years.

2nd XV Captain: Dave Bifulco
It's been disappointing this season. The second team have struggled to arrange games, and when we have managed to get opponents, we've struggled to get players! Next season, we have applied to join the Dorset & Wilts league; we will let you know when we have this confirmed.

Chairman's report: Bryan Hunt
It's near the end of another season and we're all very proud of the good work that's gone into the Club. The firsts will finish well placed in their league, the seconds are poised to enter the Dorset & Wilts league, the junior squads have gone from strength to strength. A new pitch, improvements to the clubhouse: all this wouldn't have been possible without the help from the club volunteers. You've done a great job and many thanks to all of you. There are still many things to look forward to before the end of the season and during the summer.

Membership update: Kirsten Bevis
I'll be delighted to receive your money for membership for the 2008–09 season, I know it's a bit early! The membership fees remain the same for next season, what a bargain. Remember no membership fees paid... no benefits of being a club member!

Development Squad update: Karen Travers and Steve Armson
We are nearly at the end of another very busy season with just a few more games to go. We hope everyone who came on the trip to watch Bristol enjoyed it. Luckily the snow held off, even though it was very cold.

Don't forget the Presentation Evening on 9th May. There will be lots of prizes, including a 14" TV, MP3 player, ball signed by the Bristol players, and lots more. The evening is for all age groups and is great fun with the presentation, buffet, raffle and karaoke. Every player receives a medal for their sterling efforts throughout the season!
