| 1st XV — Jon Thomas SO NEAR AND YET SO FAR What a season! What could have been! Injuries and players' work commitments took their toll on what was forecast to be a promotion year for the Club. However, a win against the eventual winners of League Division 2, Bath Old Edwardians, and a narrow one point defeat against second placed Somerton gives us much encouragement for the future. We will commence the 2006/7 season in a newly structured League. Fixtures have yet to be finalised. We are advertising for new players to strengthen our squad and are also seeking an assistant coach to help me out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Training will formally start again on 11th July, although for some eager players, it never stopped! I am anticipating a strong commitment next season, but remember: "NO PAIN = NO GAIN!" Women's Team — Gary Powell & James Atkins Our ladies' team continues to blossom. They played a number of games during the season, which gave them great experience. They did themselves proud and their strength continues to grow. One of their opposing teams pulled out at the last minute, so our male players stepped in to compete. The chaps had to play in wellies and dresses (well we had to make it fair). The ladies had a resounding victory! Look at these pictures if you want a chuckle. If there are any ladies out there who want to join us, contact either of us. No experience necessary.
