A good start to the new session for Castle Cary, extending their streak of undefeated games to eleven.

Most of the game consisted of the Cary forwards setting up a solid platform for the backs to play off. There were excellent scrummaging performances from the young Tom Hemsworth and the slightly older Pete Richardson. Cary dominated in open play with well-worked rucking and mauling; Tony Reynolds proved a driving force. The No. 8 produced many fertile runs, of which two set up platforms from which Clive Sefia scored.

An all-round team performance won the game for Cary with fitness levels proving vital when Bridgwater increased the pressure in the second half. With the sun beating down in the last ten minutes of play the game became a matter of stamina — yet Cary's forwards produced another try from a rolling maul.

Other notable performances came from Cary's back three: James Smith, Garth Watts and Lee Hansford — each of them seventeen years old. They defended well and attacked with conviction.
