Bridgwater fielded a large and strong team for this fixture against a Cary side weakened through injury. However, with Cary's well-drilled game plan this advantage was negated.

Due to injury, captain Paul Hills had to play out of his usual place on the flank, where he took to the position, stealing and disrupting Bridgwater's game at every opportunity.

This was a day of firsts, and new addition to the side, George Dampier, showed his worth in the lineouts — securing vital balls as well as disrupting the opposition's lineouts. This effectively stopped Bridgwater from competing for the ball.

The first of the tries came from another new recruit to the wing: Lee Hansford. This was followed by a try from Lukas Rautenbach, who managed to jinx through the Bridgwater defence to put the ball down.

The last try came from Jamie Smith, who increases his season tally, with Ben Snook converting one try to add to the Cary score.
