Castle Cary travelled to Frome to play one of the oldest Somerset fixtures, with a mixture of first and second team players. The match saw several members of the Cary squad playing out of position, most notably Gareth Watts moving from the wing to fly-half and Nathan Evans playing his first game in the forwards at open-side flanker and earning Man of the Match through good work in the line out, securing Cary's own balls and stealing possession of two of Frome's. Despite Devon Waine's fast legs enabling him to out pace the opposition, the final whistle concluded the game in Frome's favour. No game for Cary firsts next week, although the women's team play at home on Sunday. Castle Cary face Chard away in their next league fixture. by Rosie Meek
