A hard fought game, with Cary dominating both in forwards and back plays. However, despite the final scoreline, the game was not all one-sided.

Cary started the game with a relatively new side against a North Dorset team that was missing some regular players. From the kick-off, Cary's centre, Devon Wain, scored the first try with a blistering run from his team's own 22.

North Dorset restarted the game and applied more pressure to the Cary line. At the start of the second period, North Dorset came out of their half with a grim determination and the reward of a well-worked try under the Cary posts.

This woke Cary up: with their pack providing perfect examples of rucking, they took the game back to the North Dorset half, despite some hard tackling from the home side.

The next try came from a Cary scrum in the opposition's 22, with the ball going to fly-half Andy Keys, who crashed over the line to put it down.

Cary's scrum half George Paris who — in only his second game in this position — retrieved the ball from the back of the Cary scrum in North Dorset's half, exploited a gap in the blind-side to put over the visitors' seventh try.

Two of the tries were converted by Jo Frecknell.
