North Dorset were an extremely well drilled team: they opened the scoring early in the first half. Cary, who were short of a number of key players, were playing catch-up rugby.

However, the Cary boys were not disheartened and battled through the second half a much stronger side, showing enthusiasm and belief. Their forwards started to win the scrums, which opened up play for Cary to score from their own 22 lines. The Cary scorer was Martin Byrne. Also, Cary prop forward, Tom Penny, made some excellent tackles.

The Cary 'Man of the Match' was Andy King, who played his best match for the Club so far. The Cary coaches stated, 'We have the makings of a really strong team here, and the boys are showing maturity by not being disheartened by this result. Our best is yet to come.'
