The second Cup game of the weekend for Cary and with only a limited amount of players available, Cary fielded the same team as on Saturday.

Right from the kick-off, Cary showed determination that there was to be no repeat of the previous day's defeat.

The Cary pack soon dominated the play, winning both line-out balls and the set-pieces. Cary camped in Crewkerne's half, putting unrelenting pressure on the opposition's back line with the first try coming from a scrum in Crewkerne's 22.

The second try came from a ruck situated just inside the Crewkerne half. The opponents responded with a determined effort that resulted in Cary giving away a penalty in front of their posts in the dying seconds of the first half. This enabled Crewkerne to get some vital psychological points on the board before half-time.

The second half started the same way as the first, with Cary launching a strong offensive that led to two more tries under the posts: both were the result of the Cary backs penetrating the Crewkerne defence.
