Cary started surprisingly well against a Midsomer Norton side that plays two leagues above them.

The Norton team seemed surprised at the strength of the Cary forwards, meaning that both packs were evenly matched.

However, the Norton backs were a different matter, showing a good turn of speed when given a clean ball. With weakened players, Cary struggled to keep the opposition under control.

Coach Jon Thomas and captain Jimmer Atkins were pleased with the result for a Cary side that were quite literarily playing out of their league.
